Bangkok!!!

This is the only pic i have so far of me in my costume. So watcha think? There were TWO other audrey hepburns at the party (SIGH) but was consoled by the fact that i was the closest resemblance to her! Right up to the hair, tiara and the cigarette holder. =) These are my colleagues. On the left is annuar who is with the engineering dept. He is the one we call when anything goes wrong with the recording equipment or our PCs. Oh, he was 'the terminator' on the night. On the other side of me is Sheryl who works with traffic. She is supposed to be Amy Winehouse - who is NOT a past icon, but she just wanted to be her. I drew her tattoos, by the way, with a marker pen. Hehe. The other girl is Aznim, who is pretty new to the infocentre. Cant remember who she was supposed to be. A silent actress from way back. I didnt manage to take any pics of me coz spent so much time at the hairdressers doing my hair, that had to rush like crazy when i got to my room, as we were already very late! So didnt even think of taking photos, plus we werent allowed to bring our cameras to the ball room for the dinner as last year there was a hullabaloo as someone took some not very nice pics of a pretty famous deejay and sent it to a newspaper!! (it was a very serious case and the person could have been fired - but they couldnt prove that they knew who it was although they have a rough idea) Soooooo...also didnt take pics of myself AFTER the dinner coz i rushed up to have a shower and tend to my hair!!! Coz the woman at the salon had backcombed my WHOLE head in order to do my hairstyle. It was very painful... and i had to resort to dragging my comb through my hair bit by bit in order to detangle it. Lost so much hair man! =( Anyway.... the dinner was pretty fun lah.. coz most people dressed up for it. There were characters such as Gladiator, Janice Joplin, Stevie Wonder, Charlie's Angels, lots of Indian celebrities (easy way out for Indian girls as they just turned up in a sari and proclaimed they were either Aishwarya Rai or Rani Mukherjee), King Mongkut, bla bla bla.... Okay.. as soon as get more pics on Bangkok will post it kay....

Procrastinator

Oooppsss, just realised that my last post was about 2 months ago. Yes yes i know you're nodding your head now Oli. Anyway, its just a week before i head off home to Alor Star AGAIN! Whoo peee... This time however, have to watch my diet. The last time i went back in Christmas, I came back to KL and found that I couldnt wear one of my jeans. Couldnt even pull it up over my hips. Couldnt even pull the buckles to meet. Aiyyyooorrrr.....

Im kinda free today coz im working on a Sunday, (had to replace Nick) and I have already finished all my reports, as Im only writing General news today. Yup had to miss church though. Hmm.. I dont really know what to write. Ive been kinda busy at work as Ive been given the Smart Money portfolio, which i HATE!!! and i think its awfully unfair coz all of us have gone through the nightmare of writing for the money capsule, all except Sue, and they didnt want to give it to her coz they thought i would do a better job. SHEESH!!! That's so unfair k. Anyway, Im supposed to do it with one of the new girls, Aznim, but she "conveniently" took MC on Thursday, AND Friday, so I had to do it all myself!. Last time it was a broader subject as we were allowed to do ANYTHING on money lah. So I went about and did tips on how to save money week in and week out. Hahahaha... till it came to a point that they banned tips on how to save money, after i did a peice on how to stick soap bits together so as not to waste them, and how to put them together with glycerine or something and make liquid soap. Till today, its become an infocentre joke! So now with the narrower scope, there's hardly anything to write lah... so annoyed. So guys, if you ever come across any good article that relates to money, for example, how to spot scams etc. please do let me know. oh the other wonderful thing is that my boss is checking my work too ! =( tension.

Went to the curve yesterday with chin pei, as i was craving to eat DONUTS. HW, we decided to go eat lunch first as we were starving, so instead of going to the curve to eat, (which is quite pricey), we went to a hawker centre and had the most delicious fish head curry with rice. Yum! and only 7 bucks each. Much more tat!(worth it). Then we went to the curve and walked around and finally lined up for the donuts... ooooo. so yummy and soft. I bought 6, ate 4. Californian almond, Chococino, Go Nutz and Mango something which had cream on it... oh my oh my oh my.....

Alrighty then, i have to go and record my news as the logs are programmed a little early today. SIGH...

Hmmm, whats new....

Oh, just saw this ad on TV last night for newsreaders and hosts for Media Prima, but it was too fast and couldn't take down the address. Closing date is soon though. Still wondering if I want to stay in the news line. My editor, Azhar, approached me the other day and asked if i was interested in applying for the post of editor, as the one in training now, is leaving to go to Scotland. So i was stumped as i really dont see myself as an editor. For one, all the responsibility is on you. So say im manning the afternoon session, not only do i have to go through all the scripts for ALL the stations, including Malay, Tamil and Chinese, but I also have to bear the brunt for anything that goes wrong. Sheesh.. too much responsibility man, but of course the pay in good lah.. ehheheh.. but i rather think i wouldnt enjoy it... cannot come to work and laugh laugh anymore. So anyway, Im given time to think about it. When i hear of Nick leaving work and going to Scotland to work and travel around i feel so envious. sigh.. wish i can do something like that.

Fridays are becoming very stressful for me as I have to do my VT (recording for weekend show on MIX), in the morning before i start my shift. This is coz the asst. programme manager has to go through all the logs by 7 and i only finish my work AT 7 so no time to do it then. So i have to come in early. Yesterday however, I forgot!! i put my alarm at 9.30 thinking i would clean up my house a bit, so when i woke up i was just lounging around on the bed and suddenly it crossed my mind that i had to do VT, and i was late then. SO i practically leapt out of bed and rushed to bathe. Sorry had to postpone cleaning my house till another day. Sigh. GOt to work and thank God had time to finish my VT all but the promos that im supposed to read from. So i went to the MIX Studio to get them and Jay, one of the DJ's on at that time told me that the schedule for VT has changed!. I was like WHAT??? ive just finished doing mine. So i went to take a look at the new email, and luckily my shift was the same but i had another shift included! So i was like how in the world am i gonna get it done, as it was already time for me to start work, and i wouldnt have time to do it in between, plus im not exactly allowed to do in between,. so i went to see the program manager mesh, and he said nevermind, do it after work, and then the asst programme manager, anu, said i can just do an hour for that slot and she will put in sweepers for the rest. PHEW... so anyway it turns out that pietro, one of the DJs had not seen the schedule and had already VT'ed for that additional slot that i was supposed to do. DOUBLE PHEW!!! So it looks like every Friday i will be rushing to work early, to do my VT and then straight to work. Hope this pays off!!!

Oh i was also not very happy the other day coz you know i was approached by all the stations to VT for them, and coz MIX asked me first i turned down the others including Lite. So now Sheryl is giong to VT for Lite and they said they are going to PAY her!!! i mean not only her lah, but all the others who VT. Sheesh.... not fair.

OH another thing ive just remembered. The bimbo at my workplace has finally left. She has been offered a job at STAR i think. as a writer for a lifestyle column or something. But good for her lah as i think that job will suit her much better. And good for us too! as we wont have to put up with her bimbo attitude and revealing outfits! yuck

Christmas is coming and soon the mad rush to buy presents. Sigh.. simply dont know what to get everybody. Thank God my bonus will be out. Anyway looking forward to shop as its wat i love to do;)

How the event went

....weeellll.....lets just be honest, it wasnt that great, im mean me as the MC. For one, i had a super talkative co-MC, which is not a bad thing, as he can save me when im at a loss for words. HW, t here were quite a few times, when i was drowned out, and ended up looking pretty next to him. But he did a good job lah.

I did end up wearing the long, black tube dress, with chunky gold leaf accessories. My hair was BOMB - literally, and my eye make up bright blue - and NO, i didnt do my make up and hair myself.

But overall the event was great! There were some great performances - wheelchair dance, Acapella by the Young KL Singers - which was awesome, contemporary Indian dance, and 2 numbers by local jazz songbird Mia Palencia...

The winner of the most outstanding youth award went to Dr Kenny Lee who gave up the comforts of Kajang to go to rural Sarawak to serve a small community there.


All in all an inspiring night.
