Hmmm, whats new....

Oh, just saw this ad on TV last night for newsreaders and hosts for Media Prima, but it was too fast and couldn't take down the address. Closing date is soon though. Still wondering if I want to stay in the news line. My editor, Azhar, approached me the other day and asked if i was interested in applying for the post of editor, as the one in training now, is leaving to go to Scotland. So i was stumped as i really dont see myself as an editor. For one, all the responsibility is on you. So say im manning the afternoon session, not only do i have to go through all the scripts for ALL the stations, including Malay, Tamil and Chinese, but I also have to bear the brunt for anything that goes wrong. Sheesh.. too much responsibility man, but of course the pay in good lah.. ehheheh.. but i rather think i wouldnt enjoy it... cannot come to work and laugh laugh anymore. So anyway, Im given time to think about it. When i hear of Nick leaving work and going to Scotland to work and travel around i feel so envious. sigh.. wish i can do something like that.

Fridays are becoming very stressful for me as I have to do my VT (recording for weekend show on MIX), in the morning before i start my shift. This is coz the asst. programme manager has to go through all the logs by 7 and i only finish my work AT 7 so no time to do it then. So i have to come in early. Yesterday however, I forgot!! i put my alarm at 9.30 thinking i would clean up my house a bit, so when i woke up i was just lounging around on the bed and suddenly it crossed my mind that i had to do VT, and i was late then. SO i practically leapt out of bed and rushed to bathe. Sorry had to postpone cleaning my house till another day. Sigh. GOt to work and thank God had time to finish my VT all but the promos that im supposed to read from. So i went to the MIX Studio to get them and Jay, one of the DJ's on at that time told me that the schedule for VT has changed!. I was like WHAT??? ive just finished doing mine. So i went to take a look at the new email, and luckily my shift was the same but i had another shift included! So i was like how in the world am i gonna get it done, as it was already time for me to start work, and i wouldnt have time to do it in between, plus im not exactly allowed to do in between,. so i went to see the program manager mesh, and he said nevermind, do it after work, and then the asst programme manager, anu, said i can just do an hour for that slot and she will put in sweepers for the rest. PHEW... so anyway it turns out that pietro, one of the DJs had not seen the schedule and had already VT'ed for that additional slot that i was supposed to do. DOUBLE PHEW!!! So it looks like every Friday i will be rushing to work early, to do my VT and then straight to work. Hope this pays off!!!

Oh i was also not very happy the other day coz you know i was approached by all the stations to VT for them, and coz MIX asked me first i turned down the others including Lite. So now Sheryl is giong to VT for Lite and they said they are going to PAY her!!! i mean not only her lah, but all the others who VT. Sheesh.... not fair.

OH another thing ive just remembered. The bimbo at my workplace has finally left. She has been offered a job at STAR i think. as a writer for a lifestyle column or something. But good for her lah as i think that job will suit her much better. And good for us too! as we wont have to put up with her bimbo attitude and revealing outfits! yuck

Christmas is coming and soon the mad rush to buy presents. Sigh.. simply dont know what to get everybody. Thank God my bonus will be out. Anyway looking forward to shop as its wat i love to do;)

How the event went

....weeellll.....lets just be honest, it wasnt that great, im mean me as the MC. For one, i had a super talkative co-MC, which is not a bad thing, as he can save me when im at a loss for words. HW, t here were quite a few times, when i was drowned out, and ended up looking pretty next to him. But he did a good job lah.

I did end up wearing the long, black tube dress, with chunky gold leaf accessories. My hair was BOMB - literally, and my eye make up bright blue - and NO, i didnt do my make up and hair myself.

But overall the event was great! There were some great performances - wheelchair dance, Acapella by the Young KL Singers - which was awesome, contemporary Indian dance, and 2 numbers by local jazz songbird Mia Palencia...

The winner of the most outstanding youth award went to Dr Kenny Lee who gave up the comforts of Kajang to go to rural Sarawak to serve a small community there.


All in all an inspiring night.

The matter of 'The Dress'

Im back in the morning...sigh...The black circles around my eyes have never gone off after my stint in the morning about a week ago. Looks like they might not go off for a long time too, as im scheduled to be in the morning every other week till Xmas! =( SLEEP DEPRIVED!!!!!

Anyway, you must be wondering what the title of this post is all about. This weekend I will be emceeing at the AYA Dream Malaysia Awards. Its an awards ceremony honoring the most outstanding youth and youth friendly company in Malaysia. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO WEAR!!! According to the main organiser, Shirley, can wear evening gown as its very grand place (it will be at the KL PAC - where a lot of performances, plays, musicals are held). I do have this tube long dress with a slit down the side. I was told that it should be fine, but i bought it ages ago and just wondering if its still in fashion?? Hehe... nowadays the fashion seems to be much more funky than elegant. Hmmmm... but i dont want to splurge on a dress that Im probably not gonna wear again. So seems that I will have to wear that black dress. So now the other issue is accessories!!. Since its a plain black dress, I will have to accessorize. Again, I dont want to spend money to buy accessories. Wonder if anyone can lend me some??

My body clock is screwed up. Ive been working in the morning shift since Thursday last week and I still havent really got used to the hours. For those who dont know, morning shift starts at 5 AM until 1 PM. The going back at 1pm part is pretty neat, but the waking up at 4.10AM to get to work by 5AM isnt so great. I feel like I havent slept for a year! Ive been pretty busy the past few days so havent been able to rest in the afternoons, and at night i only get a few hours as compared to my normal 10 hours when im working in the afternoon shift.

Also, I havent been feeling too well the past few days. It started with a stabbing pain in my right side quite high up, under my ribcage. I went to the pharmacy to get something for it but it didnt work, and went on through the night. It was a bearable pain lah, something a bit like gastric pain, but comes and goes. Not a constant one. So yesterday i finally dragged myself to the doctor, and surprisingly, he didnt know what was wrong. He said there's nothing on my right side except the liver and gall bladder, but after prodding me all over, he said it couldnt be gall bladder stones coz my abdomen was soft! Hmmm... so he jsut gave me more painkillers, told me to keep on taking the meds i got from the pharmacy and that's it. Anyway. today i feel much better, so the painkillers did the trick!! =)

More than a week

Well, as i predicted, its been some time since i last posted an entry. 8 days to be precise. Since then, many things have happened, which i cant remember by now. Im now in the morning shift for 8 working days. This is coz one of my collegue's on leave so i have to replace her in the morning. I dont really mind, but the only thing is my body clock is not used to waking up at 4.10 am, and going to sleep at 9. In fact on Wednesday night, I could hardly sleep at all. And things werent made better by the fact that i couldnt get an afternoon nap yesterday. So i am looking forward to catching up with my sleep this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday! heheh.

Last night was my first try at going on air for MIX fm. I am now voice tracking for the station (its on 94.5 in the Klang Valley), and was quite nervous and i didnt know what i would say. Anyway myself, and another guy, who was doing it too, were guided by the assistant programme manager. Felt a bit self conscious rambling in front of her and at first no words came into my head. But i soon felt more relaxed, and the words just came, but the problem i had was that although there were ideas in my head, it was all jumbled up, so i kept on getting a bit tongue twisted. Not knowing what to say first and what goes next etc. Sometimes i talked too much. Heheh.. but it was fun!.

It will be on at 6am to 8 am this Sunday, something Im quite thankful about coz i dont really want people to hear me on my first try. malu lah.. so self conscious, not to mention i felt that i sounded like some aunty from the pasar malam!

Fridaaaayyyyy

Its Friday! That would explain why i feel sluggish, incapable of thinking, sleepy etc. To add to that I also have a headache and an unexplainable stomach ache as well. I've been suffering from an allergy for the past week or so, and it's finally getting better. Well, at least that's one thing to be happy about.

I will be goin for a buka puasa function later today. That means that I will have to get my work in early, oh bore! However, there should be good food and a possibility of getting 'duit raya'!! which is of course the only incentive of me driving all the way to PJ Hilton after work. Last year i didnt go but my friends who did received quite a big sum....Yes yes.. i know, money face kan...

Learning the ropes

Ive held off starting a blog for goodness knows how long. When i was in highschool my friends had already started one but knowing that i was never very good at keeping a diary, I decided not to start one myself. However, after reading blogs of my sister who's overseas, my mother, who's a few hours drive away, and another sis, who's also in another country, I NOW think its a pretty good idea to keep in touch with them, or to just know what's going on in their lives. So this is for all who are interested in knowing what's going on in MY life. Hopefully i'll be disciplined enough to write regularly....
